For Tech Professionals
InfoTech WNY Interview Days connects Western New York tech professionals with college students exploring IT careers. In a single one-hour conversation, you can shape a student’s understanding of your field, your organization, and the paths that lead from the classroom to the workplace.
Why participate?
The students at this event are the next generation of technologists in our region. They are your future hires, project partners, and the talent pool that will drive local innovation. By taking part, you help them see where their coursework leads and what a career in technology really looks like—while putting your organization and your role in front of motivated, curious students.
What’s in it for your organization
- A stronger future talent pool — Students who understand your organization and your work are more likely to consider you when they’re ready to apply.
- Higher visibility on campus — Your participation signals that you invest in education and in the community, which matters to students and career centers.
- Mission and impact — Many organizations have goals around community engagement and workforce development; Interview Days is a direct way to live those values.
What’s in it for you as a professional
- Sharper skills — Explaining what you do and how you got there reinforces your own expertise and perspective.
- Real impact — One conversation can change how a student thinks about their major, their next internship, or their first job.
- Low time commitment — A single one-hour slot (or more if you choose) is all it takes to participate.
How it works
- Register — Share your background, organization, and the day(s) and time(s) you’re available for one-hour conversations.
- Get matched — We match students to professionals based on interests and availability.
- Connect — You arrange the details (e.g., Zoom, Teams, or phone) and have a focused informational interview.
- Optional — If you’re open to it, you can offer in-person shadowing or a follow-up; that’s arranged after the match.
This is an educational and networking experience, not a recruitment event. The goal is for students to learn about roles, industries, and career paths—and for you to share your experience and your organization’s story.
Who should sign up?
- Individual professionals — Any tech-focused professional who can spare an hour to talk with a student.
- Managers and HR — If you’re coordinating for a team, we recommend one registration per professional so each person gets their own match and time slot.

Register as a professional, choose your availability, and we’ll handle the rest. Matches are made after student registration closes; you’ll receive the details and can set up the conversation directly with your matched student(s).
